I IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 16, 1946 EXECUTIVE ORDER DESIGNATING THE ALIEN PROPERTY CUSTODIAN TO ADMINISTER THE POWERS AND AUTHORITY CONFERRED UPON THE PRESIDENT BY SECTIONS 20 AND 32 OF THE TRADING WITH THE ENEMY ACT, AS AMENDED By virtue of the authority vested in me by Title III of the First "ar Powers Act, 1941 (50 U.S.C. App., Sup., 616 et seq.), , as amended, by the Trading with the Enemy Act of October 6, 1917 (50 U.S.C. App., 1 et seq ), as amended, and as President of the United States, it is hereby NARA ordered as follows: The Alien Property Custodian is designated as the officer to ad- minister the powers and authority conferred upon the President by section 20 of the Trading with the Enemy Act, as amended by Public Law 322,79th Congress, approved March 8, 1946, and by section 32 of the said act, as added by the said Public Law 322. The Alien Property Custodian may delegate to officers and employees of the Office of Alien Property Custodian such functions as he may deem necessary to carry out the provisions of this order. This order shall not be construed as revoking or limiting any power or authority heretofore delegated to the Alien Property Custodian. HARRY S. TRUMAN THE WHITE HOUSE, May 16, 1946.
