Secret Service\nSubject\n: Information regarding persons responsible for pre-\nsentation of gifts to the President and his family\nat San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas, Virgin\nIslands.\nAt san Juan, a collection of miscellaneous gifts was presented to the\nPresident prior to the reception at La Fortaleza by Governor Pinero.\nThese gifts were received from various well-wishers of the President,\nresiding in San Juan and having businesses in Puerto Rico. An appro-\npriate letter to Governor Pinero should serve to thank all of the\npersons who presented gifts.\nAt St. Thomas, a collection of miscellaneous gifts was presented to\nthe President by Mr. Ralph Paiewonsky, Chariman of the Reception Com-\nmittee. These gifts represented items sent by various personages who\nlive in the Virgin Islands. An appropriate letter to Mr. Paiewonsky\nshould serve to thank all persons who presented gifts."
