ROVERNMENT
REATHEL:
This was given to me this morning.
Miss Fudellat had asked for this
information to be broadcast on the
Voice of America while the Minister of
Pakistan and his wife were here.
Mrs. Truman's answer was "No," and
I telephoned to Miss Rudellat and gave
her the answer.
I think now we had better let this
go, without taking it up again with
Miss Rudellat.
Edith Helm
Miss Odum sent a note on May 29th saying "You may tell Mrs. Helm she
may quote Miss Truman as saying that the Prime Minister of Pakistan
and Begum Liaquat Ali Khan gave her "some exquisite cloth of gold
material, which she will have made into a dress for her concerts.
Also a lovely evening pouch in white and gold to match the material,
also a beautiful necklace of enamel with a large pendant in the
front, and earrings (pendant) to match.' If It is difficult to describe
these correctly, but ell Mrs. Helm, Miss Truman said she had done
her best. R.O."
