My dear Mrs. Ashburh:
Mrs. Truman is very sorry that
a dinner engagement which she and the
President have had for some time prevents
then from accepting the invitation you
have extended to then from the telephone
committee for Chapter @ to attend the BIL
dinner on February Aucond.
She hopes you will express their
thanks to the members of your group for
wishing to give this pleasure to her and
the President and will also extend their
regrets that they can not attend the din-
ner that night.
Very sincerely yours,
Mrs. J. 11. Helm
Secretary to Mrs. Truman
