TIGRARY
M.S.
My dear Mrs. Knapp:
Mrs. Truman is very sorry that she
can not accept the invitation you have extended
to her from the Executive Board of the Supreme
Chapter P.E.O. Sisterhood to attend the conven-
tion in Philadelphia On October eighth to
eleventh. She has asked me to say that she is
invariably in Missouri at that time, so much
to her regret she would not be able to give
even a tentative acceptance to this invitation
as she feels sure she will not be in Washing-
ton or the vicinity early in October. She
hopes you will express her thanks to the mem-
bers of your great organization for this much
appreciated invitation.
Your invitation has been forwarded
to the secretary to the President who handles
all of his engagements.
Very sincerely yours,
Mrs. J. M. Helm
Secretary to Mrs. Truman
