MRS. HELM
NI
Februray 5, 1950
Dear Mrs. Helm,-
Thank you for the trouble you took. I have been
given an electrotype of Mrs. Truman for use in
the History of Missouri P.E.O.
It would, of course, have been of greater value,
to the philanthropy to which income from sale of
the book is to be devoted, had there been a
friendly "wave of the hand" or expression of
good will. It Toll
before
I first met you when a guest of Mrs. Roosevelt
at an afternoon tea when a musician was presented.
I was with Emily Newell Blair.
Then, with the Women of The Press, Mrs. Roosevelt
gave us a personally conducted tour of the
newly re-modelled kitchens, some time later, when
I was at a Washington conference with Frances
Perkins.
It was my privilege to manage the Missouri 1932
campaign for Mr. Roosevelt, and later to play no
inconsiderable part in electing Mr. Truman to the
Senate.
My personal thanks to you.
