THE ITEM I ONE ANNYN MISSOURI &
My dear Mrs. Coombs:
Mrs. Truman expects now to be away
with the President on May ninth and tenth,
so much to her regret she can not accept the
invitation you have extended: to her from the
District of Columbia Chapter, P.E.O. Sister-
hood, to attend the banquet or the meetings
to be held while the convention is taking
place.
She hopes you will express to the
members of the Chapter her regrets that the
date of the convention coincides with the
trip of the President and that she can not
be with her fellow members of the P.E.O. at
that time.
Very sincerely yours,
Mrs. J. M. Helm
Secretary to Mrs. Truman
