OFFICE 02 THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY PARISH OF ORLEANS state OF LOUISIANA December 15, 1966 STATEMENT OF: DAVID F. LEWIS, JR. WM, 26 years 2632 Cleveland Avenue New Oxleans, Louisiana Business phone 522-9701 or 525-4201 I have never previously been interviewed by the FBI or any other agency on this matter. During the months of January, 1961, through Januaxy, 1962, I was employed by Guy Banister & Associates as a private investigator. In the late summer of 1963 I was reporting to the Louisiana State Employment Office, at 601 Camp Street seeking steady employment. At this time all I had was odd jobs from time to time. Several times I stopped by Guy Banister's Office in the Newman Building to see if he had any leg work to be done. on one occasion I stopped by Banister's office, before going into the office; I stopped by Mancuso's Restaurant which is on the corner of Banister's Office. X noticed Sergio Achacio, Carlos, and a fellow whom I was introdueed to by Carlos as Lee Harvey in the restaurant. It has now been determined by me through photographs that this man was Lee Harvey Oswald. plus the time when I was at home when Jack Ruby killed Lec Oswald and it came on T.V. and I said I had seen that man before. When I first seen Lee Oswald in the restaurant, he didn't talk much, but he seemed to be anxious about getting on his way. Oswald appeared to be highly nervous man with boundless energy. Carlos, Sergio and Lee Oswald were involved in some business which dealt with Cuba. It appeared to me that this was a business that was more or less a racket to acquire funds.
