    "ocrText": "December 11, 1963\nMr. J. E. Curry\nChief of Police\nSubject: Interview of Mr. David Hughes\nSir:\nOn December 11, 1963, Lieutenant Jack Revill and Lieutenant\nF. I. Cornwall interviewed Mr. David Hughes of 2948 Binkley,\nApartment 3, EM3-2851. Mr. Hughes is employed as a reporter\nby the Dallas Times Herald.\nMr. Hughes stated that he was at home on November 24, 1963, when\nLee Harvey Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby; that he was viewing\ntelevision and saw the shocting on television; that he immediately\ndressed and reported to the Times Herald City Desk for assign-\nment. He was subsequently assigned to the City Hall and arrived\nthere at approximately 12:15 P.R.\nMr. Hughes stated that he was instrusted to interview both\npolice officers and other persons to get their reactions to\nthe shooting of Oawald.\nNr. Hughes stated that he interviewed Sergeant P. T. Dean\nand Patrolman R. E. Vaughn shortly after arriving at the\nCity Hall. Mr. Hughes stated that Sergeant Dean was\nexplicitly precise in what he said;that Sergeant Dean\nrelated that Jack Ruby came from the Main Street entrance\nramp. Sgt. Dean did not state that he had observed Ruby\ncome down the remp.\nA copy of Mr. Hughes original notem pertaining to the inter-\nview with Sergeant Dean are attached to this report.\nMr. Hughes stated that Patrolman Vaughn rolated that Ruby\napparently gained access to the City Hall basement via the\nMain Street ramp.
