Chief of Police
Subject: Jack Ruby
Mr. H. E. Crabbe, Assistant Vice-President, Herchant's
State Bank was interviewed Friday, December 13, 1963,
regarding Jack Ruby and any loan transactions involving
Jack Ruby and any Dallas Police Officers.
A list of officers assigned to the security of the transfer
of Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, was furnished
to the bank. The loan records of the Merchant's State Bank
failed to reveal Jack Ruby being a co-maker of any loans to
Dallas Police Officers.
Mr. Crabbe was assisted by Mr. Vince Torres, an employee of
the bank Loan Department. This search revealed that Jack
Ruby is not now nor has he ever been a co-maker of any loan.
