CONSPIRACY TO MURDER
CRIMINAL DISTRICT COURT

REQUEST FOR ATTENDANCE OF OUT-OF-STATE WITNESS
TO THE HONORABLE MATTHEW S. BRANIFF, JUDGE OF SECTION "B" OF THE
CRIMINAL DISTRICT COURT FOR THE PARISH OF ORLEANS, STATE OF
LOUISIANA:
The undersigned Assistant District Attorney for the
Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana, pursuant to the provisions
of the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 741, hereby
reports and certifies as follows:
1.
That there is now pending before the Grand Jury
for the Parish of Orleans an investigation into a conspiracy to
murder John F. Kennedy. Said conspiracy is a felony under the
laws of the State of Louisiana.
2. That Mrs. Ruth Paine, now residing at 1201
Woodleigh Street, Irving, Texas, in the County of Dallas, is a
necessary and material witness for the State of Louisiana in
said Grand Jury investigation.
3. Mrs. Ruth Paine first met the Oswalds in February
1963 in Dallas, and subsequently befriended them. After Lee
Oswald's arrival in New Orleans on April 25, 1963, Marina
Oswald lived at Ruth Paine's home in Irving, Texas, and on
May 10, 1963, Mrs. Paine drove Marina to New Orleans in her car
She stayed with the Oswalds for three days and returned to Texas
on May 14.
