14 February 1967
TO:
JIM GARRISON
DISTRICT ATTORNEY
FROM:
WILLIAM GURVICH
INVESTIGATOR
SUBJ: DAVID WILLIAM FERRIE - I. E. NITSCHKE'S DESCRIPTION OF
I have on this read the January 17, 1967, statement of I. E.
Nitschke and wish to make the following note.
On page three, paragraph one, NITSCHKE identified NOPD BOI
Photo #107062 of DAVID FERRIE as being one of the persons he had
met in the late GUY BANNISTER'S office. During NITSCHKE'S
description and discussion of FERRIE, he added that the coat
worn in the photograph looked like the one worn by FERRIE when
he saw him in person.
Your attention is directed to my report of 27 January 1967. On
page three, paragraph five, aircraft mechanic FRED LENZ, when
interviewed by me, at the WHITE ROCK AIRPORT in Dallas, Texas,
selected this same photograph of FERRIE and said he had seen him
at that airport, LENZ also mentioned a sport jacket (coat) that
was "checkered, brown and light gray or white. This description
is very similar to the coat worn by FERRIE in the photograph.
