May 1, 2003 James H. Brothers IV (b) (6) Midlothian, Virginia 23113 Dear James, I was pleased and surprised the other night to come home from work and find a large box from you full of research notes and articles! It's always fun to go through research notes. I am familiar with the work of Dr. Skaggs and find him quite definitive. I have gone through the materials once so far and would like to hold the box of materials for another week or so in order to make a second pass through the materials and copy some of the articles. I had much of the material in my own files but it is always wonderful to find materials that I didn't have! I am enclosed a check of a small sum to help offset your costs and trouble. The Huguenot house sites sound fascinating. You might be interested to know that I have just finished serving on Stafford County's committee on Government Island. This is the island where the stone for the Capitol and White House came. We recommended that they make this island a county park, make it accessible to the public and provide interpretative signs. If acquia freestone is of interest to you, I can send some additional information. In the meantime, thank you for taking the trouble to send me the large box of Dr. Skaggs' research materials. I shall send it back to you in the very near future. Sincerely, Robert J. Kapsch
