Stayed in bed and napped 9:00 Talked with Dr. Cain in West Hall briefly and then into President's room. 9:14 Talked to Lynda in New York. President talked to Lynda. Finished the call w/ Lynda 9:25 Talked with President more. 9:50 Dressed 10:15 Talked on phone to Mrs. Mellon for 15 minutes 11:00 Went for a walk alone(with Secret Service) down to 17th and Ellipse area to see the proposed park development. 11:30 Back to South Grounds and walked there 12:00 Returned to 2nd Floor 12:10 To 3rd Floor to see Johnson Library Model with Horace Busby and Mr. Palmer. 12:55 Greeted Governors in Yellow Oval Room (see President's activities for names) 1:02 President came over to see Governors for lunch 1:15 Began to work with Bess in room 1:30 Lunchiscramblea egg, bacon,1 1/2 toast, Sanka. 1:55 Bess left 2:04 Down to Diplomatic Reception Room to see Kay Graham and Walter Washington 2:10 Went for ride with Kay and Walter: To Syphaz School, Bowen School,plans for 14th and Southeast Jreeway entrance to city beautification. 3:32 3:40 Talked with Lynda in New York Talked to Bob Bobbill.
