Any suggestions that you have for the minority report will be welcomed by
Frank, I am sure.
The committee is so confused by the unexpected turn of events that it has
obteined a two-weeks extension from the legislature for the filing of its
report. Doctor Garcia made a splendid witness. He was calm, deliberate
and well-informed. He dispelled any idea that might have existed that he
is a "crackpot" or rabid rabble-rouser. Bob Smith and Doctor Gercim were
supposed to see Governor Jester yesterday morning. Smith, by the way, came
down to testify voluntarily and his presence was very helpful.
Regardless of what the committee may decide the American G. I. Forum in-
tends to publish the entire record in phamphlet form with an explanatory
preface setting out the most essential points. Your participation in this
matter, therefore, will be available for all to see, and, as a colored
men asid, "Right is right, and you can't beat right.' Surely even the
bekmighted State of Texas can recognize that what you did is precisely
the sort of thing that will enable us to hold our own against disintegration
from within.
