THE WHITE HOUSE
Sub ject: Full Power for Signature of Proces-verbaux
Extending Declarations on Provisional
Accession of Argentina, Switzerland, and
the United Arab Republic to the General
Agreement on Tariffs and Trade
There is enclosed for the President's signature a
Full Power authorizing John W. Evans to sign procès-verbaux
of October 30, 1964 extending declarations on provisional
accession of Argentina, Switzerland, and the United Arab
Republic to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
The Full Power has been dated December 18, 1964, since
the procès-verbaux were signed by Mr. Evans on that date.
Prior to signature of the agreements informal assurances
were received from the Secretariat for the General
Agreement that new Full Powers would not be required;
however, on reconsideration the Secretariat has reversed
its original position.
