They recorded big results with... thousands tons of rice having been captured. Thousands of Communist weapons and ammunition have also been captured. Attention Compatriots! Since 1954, after the Geneva Accord was signed, Cambodia has been a neutral nation. During the past months, North Vietnam violated the independence and neutrality of Cambodia. Thousands of NVA troops came from their bases to invade this nation. The ARVN and the Allies could not allow their fighting men to be attacked by the enemy coming from their sanctuaries. The ARVN and Allied units have attacked the Communist troops and resolve to get rid of them bases that are used to attack the people of SVN. And between May 1 and May 19, 1970, the ARVN and Allied thrust into Cambodian sanctuaries have resulted in the following: 1. Hundreds of bunkers and warehouses used to store supplies in Cambodia have been destroyed. 2. 6,123 Communist troops have been killed. 3. 468 Prisoners of War have allowed themselves to be captured 4. 98 Communist troops have decided to rally to the GVN. 5. 8,611 Individual weapons, 1,095 crew-served weapons, 2,930 metric tons of corn, rice, along with 32 metric tons of salt, 762 vehicles, have been cpatured. In addition, thousands of metric tons of medical supplies, ammunition, mines, explosives, repair parts, fuel, oil, uniforms, and other war materials have been captured, along with numerous machinegun barrels, mortar tubes, sighting devices, typewriters, telephones, switchboards, sewing machines and tools. Discovery of massive caches, ARVN/Allied forces in Cambodia will severely hamper the ability of the enemy to conduct successfully operations. These successes of the Government of South Vietnam clearly indicate the strength of the GVN. Although the Communist High Command has not yet been destroyed, at has been severely crippled by the ARVN.
