MEMORANDUM FOR MR. HENRY A. KISSINGER
THE WHITE HOUSE
Subject: Letter to the President from Prime
Minister Trudeau
The attached letter of July 16 to the President
from Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau was delivered
today by the Canadian Embassy. Embassy Minister
K. B. Williamson said that the original of the Prime
Minister's letter will be delivered soon. He re-
quested that the attached copy of the letter be
conveyed to the President as rapidly as possible.
It concerns the Prime Minister's reaction to the
President's announcement of July 15 on the People's
Republic of China. The Department will be preparing
an acknowledgment.
