Warren Nutter
12:40 p. m. 10/23/69
Nutter said while he was gone there was some action on the NSSM 52
(Greece). Nutter was confused as to where it now stands. He gathered
they were preparxing to send the memo straight to the President,
then
they
made
some
suggestions that were not major and now he understands that they are
going to shift the NSSM to the NSC.
K said he was not aware of this and planned on sending it directly to
the President. Nutter said then there won't be anything for his principals
to do . K said not unless klx Laird wants to have NSC meeting on it. and
asked if there was any problem on it. Nutter said his people thought
that the first draft did not completely reflect what had been discussed in
the Review Group. K asked if everything had been absorbed and Nutter
wasn't sure. K said he would have Saunders send him the paper to make
sure. kax Nutter said that would be fine as he understood there was some
discontent.
