L just wanted to check out onething with K. For Dave, L wonders
would it be possible to do it any earlier than 5:00. K said he should
not change travel plans he already has. K said he told the President
Dave might want to go to the west coast. L said he wanted to go home
for Thanksgiving, and was to leave about 5:00. K said when could he
do it, 4:00? Or Monday? L said yes, either 4:00 or Monday. K said
he would check with the P. L said probably it would just be Dave, K
and probably Rogers. L doesn't think he ought to be in it. K said
does the P want Rogers to come? L said yes. L said he didn't think
he ought to come; he's such an advocate. L thinks it would be better
XXIX if he's not there. L thinks it would be better for the P to have a
direct exchange with Dave.
K said while he's got L on the phone - - K was going to call him. About
the Mace Bs, the P prefers to hold the announcement until the second
week in December. L said he's got them all set to come, all deactiv-
ated. K said don't do it yet. K said we want them to deliver on some-
thing else first. K said they'11 come out, but we just want to hold
them for two weeks.
