L said evidently in inviting some of the Congressional people, they told
them the subject. K said god damn those morons. Who would have done
that? L said I don't know; we're stonefacing this; our people have heard
from Hill people that the subject is chemical warfare. K said Bryce
Harlow would have done that. L said they're speculating now on what it
will be. L said there's nothing on the news yet. But they said the armed
services and Congressional leadership are going to be there. L told his
people to say they don't know anything. K said that's right. L said it's
better that they don't know. K said much better. K said the instruction
we gave was to say it is on disarmament.
