Mr. Kissinger
Danielle Hunebelle
2/16/70; 9:15 p.m
H said she knew how busy K was and she said it was so easy to follow him
-- all she had to do was read the newspapers. K said particularly on the
society pages. H said she was reading an article he wrote in the German
press. K said he did not write an article for them. K said they printed
something he wrote two years ago and acted as though he did it now. K
said it was ridiculous. H said she thought it was funny. (aaa)
K asked H what she wanted from him -- K said she would get it anyway
so she should ask quickly. H said she intended to do a profile of him for
the TV. H asked if any networks had done a profile on him. K said he
has never had a profile done by anyone but he has been on TV programs.
H asked what networks: CBS, NBC, etc. ? H asked if any were connected
with important events. K said yes, all of them with the
President
on
trips, etc.
H asked if we had anyone that was able to speak in French -- she said
there would probably be a problem. H said she knew K spoke French well.
K said he was immune to her it was all her tactic especially after
reading her article in Harpers (?). K said his French was not good.
H said the broadcast would last for about 30 minutes -- she said that was
a long time. H asked if K could have his children down over the weekend.
K said the weekend was bad for him. H said the crew was arriving tomorrow
night. K again said just tell him what she wanted and she would get it.
K said once you find your master, you don't fight it. H said the best thing
would be to follow him for two days and to use what they could and to do
what they could. K asked if he could take out a girl in the interim or if
they expected him to be a monk. H said but of course. K asked when
she had to have this finished. H said as soon as possible. H said she
would like to spend a week in Washington if she could but she didn't know
how the crew will work out. H said the crew was Swiss because all the
French TV crews were Communists.
H asked K if he would be free for dinner tomorrow. K said he did have a
dinner date but he would check. K said she was ruining his love life. H
asked if he could find some time tomorrow. K said the real problem was
that he would not be available Friday or Saturday. H said that's okay,
she
would follow him. K said she couldn't he was going to Camp David and
they don't allow TV cameras there.
H said they would go to Harvard and interview people who could speak
French. K said wait a minute, he couldn't let her show this in America.
K asked if they could make an agreement now. H said they would discuss
