About that briefing for the Foreign Relations people tomorrow.
The President would appreciate it if you were there. He
will be doing much of the briefing himself but if you could
answer questions that came up with regard to constitutional
basis, he would appreciate it. He thought you should be the
only Cabinet member present. He will have Laird at the
meeting in the morning and you at the meeting in the afternoon.
R:
On Kosygin's statement, we are drafting a reply which I will
submit to you and let the President look at. I am not sure it
is a good idea but if we are going to have a reply from the
President, he should not argue with them.
K:
I think we should hit this notion. When he says aggression
on Cambodia, we should hit that one. I thought you did very
well yesterday. When did you tape it? I just saw the
transcript.
R:
I think the program on the whole came off well.
