Telecon Mr. Yoshida 6/23/70 8:37 a. m. page 2 Y: I will do SO. K: Good. It's very courteous of you to call me. You tell him I will do everything in my power to settle the problems here, but we have the problem of the time limit. Y: Would three years be acceptable? K: That is something we could talk about while we could not talk about the other. Y: I will say this to my friend confidentially and give him your message. K: And please give him my high regards and that I appreciated the message his emissary conveyed to us. Y: Yes and if there is anything further that I can do please call me. K: I thinkw e can handle everything except that one point. Y: I will mention this to my friend immediately. K: Wonderful. It was nice to talk to you and thank you for all your efforts. If we do this successfully I think we are in a new era and I think we will do it. I will do everything on my side, and we have been devoted to this objective. [HAK put David on the line for him to take the information about how Y could be reached. Y is staying in Johannesburg at the President's Hotel, telephone 281414, room #1207. Johannesburg is 7 hours ahead of us. Y said that from 11 or 12 Johannesburg time until 8:00 in the morning he would be at his hotel. During his day time he can be reached at 724-9459, the South African Institute of International Affairs. He should be asked for by his real name. ]
