K: I thought the Egyptian reaction was good.
S: When a cable brings tears to the eyes of Israelis and Egyptians itx at the
same time it may be working. I am not kidding. If we have goofed on the
cables I am sorry. You can help. The Israelis have great confidence in you.
Tell them You have read more conditionality in this. Take a look at the President's
short letter. The end paragraph is as clear as can be. A little word by you
at your initiation would be helpful.
K: I will taxkee talk to Rabin today.
S: I will stay in closer touch.
K: Let's look ahead.
S: It's going well.
