7/10/70 3:45 p. m,
K: I wanted to check what Murray Marder does in an unhelpful article.
S: I know. He ignored everything you and I said.
K: That son of a bitch, when he wrote the fisst article about "expel"
he already had my retraction.
S: What John Scalli said, between you and me, is that Murray
Marder won't see what you mean. He said he got onto the word "expel"
and wrote it all over the place as it was originally said. He didn't give
you the break on the retraction. Where he got that implication I don't

were going to send the Secretary a message. I hope you did.
K: I did.
S: Good, I'11 reinforce it on this end. Ben Bradlee just called me.
Hew wanted to do an article about Robert Anderson. It relates to something
15 years ago. The problem is that Anderson is trying to get the Washington
Post not to print it. He said he was about to go to the area on a mission for
the U.S government and it would hurt the mission.
K: *!?&%#!
S: I said he's not doing a mission for State. Bradlee said they didn't
want to hurt a mission, but they thought it was a lot of %$#@! The day
Robert Anderson is sent on a mission for this government, Joe Sisco will
K: The President won't even send him to the Panama Canal because
he is afraid he will use it for business purposes.
S: If you and I only had his dough. What an operator!
