TELECON
Mr. Kissinger/Joe Sisco
8:05 p. m. , July 22, 1970
K:
I have just talked to the President and on a quick reading
of the letter. There were no major (changes ? ? ). . He feels
very strongly, he doesn't want to send it today. We will
wait for the response to the Nasser speech tomorrow and after
the Dobrynin response.
S:
Rabin called -- holding their response till they hear from us.
K:
You could call Rabin and ask him not to say anything.
S:
Holding their fire.
K:
Wait until Rabin response.
S:
Not overriding tonight.
K:
Okay
S:
Let me see how it goes.
K:
This is the President's thinking.
S:
I can understand that. We will take a reading tomorrow night
and you and I will see what the situation is.
