Telecon Dr. Franklin Murphy 7/28/70 p.m. (in S. C. M: Did you tell the President about your experience [at Bohemian Grove]? K: Yes. He's been there. It didn't surprise him. M: Several items. One, I am going to see you I understand tomorrow night. At the Bradens' for dinner. K: Oh yes. Great. M: Two, I will not be able to get to San Clemente SO I think the next time we will cross paths will be in Washington in August. I get in at 4:30 in the fifth. Maybe we could have dinner together on the evening of the 5th at about 8:00? K: Good. M: Third, did you go over the thing with Bob Haldeman? K: Yes. He doesn't know what you a re talking about- - - you invited him and he didn't want to go. He's flattered, delighted and full of affection for you but he's under the impression that you had invited him. But he doesn't like that sort of activity--he likes to stay in the background. M: I feel much relieved. K: He says he doesn't want to come next year either. M: I will change his mind. And if he can't come, you can come again. K: That's a fine thing to say. M: Or maybe you two can both come. K: I have one thing: the President thought you might be willing to drop in on Bill Rogers and give him some of your impressions for Marshall Green. Or better, why don't you talk to him at the Grove this weekend?
