No, I sent off this thing to Ladd. I expect an answer. I talked with
Helms along the lines of our conversation and your note to me. Three
people almost immediately in his key positions and on his own I have
asked him to identify some more.
P:
What did he say?
K:
He said he would do it, he was so relieved that he is staying. I told him
you never heard a word of complaint about your
shop.
P:
Okay, good.
K:
Karamessines is first class and energetic but on the estimate side there
is a great weakness. Said we wanted to cut down some of their activities
and told him about your strong feeling on that. I met with that group that
Congressman Marsh is putting together. A counter to some of these
liberal groups. They have $20 million
P:
$20 million.
K:
$18 million Scaife is willing to put into it.
P:
Boy!

Ought to be able to do something with that.

What are they going to do, set up a foundation?

have some pretty sure ideas, they want to take over some of the
existing groups, form a series of foundations, then a series of professional
groups taking over some of the world affair groups. Would then hold
