RELECON The President 6/4/71 5:05 p. m. P: The Vice President and I are talking about his trip. When you have finished talking to him tomorrow you come over to my office with him. I will be in my office. I have to leave for Tulsa at 9:30 but I'll be here until then. I would like for you to talk over the Greek thing with him. I'm not so sure it's a problem. K: I think in this month it's a problem P: Why not have a little diversionary tactic. Where were you going to have it, the New York Times? K: It will raise some hiell in thex Europe. I think it would be better in October. P: That is possible too. K: He could go back in the fall. I just think at this particular moment if we can keep the liberals quiet P: Well, you talk to him very frankly and I'll decide it when you come in. You and he talk it over and talk about the other places he might stop. Okay. K: All right. P: How about Morocco? K: That's okay. P: We also talked about Saudi Arabia. K: If Rogers doesn't object P: It's a fascinating place to go and he was invited by Faisal. K: Then I think he should go, and they are not very active about things. P: You talk that over with the Vice President and then come and see me. 5:13 p. m. P: Have you got a minute I'm going to have you and him to breakfast at 8:30 tomorrow morning dather than the other way; it gives us more time. K: Right. P: Are you free now. I want to talk five minutes before I leave for that thing. K: Right Mr. President.
