TELCON Joyce Cramer/Mr. Kissinger 7:55 p. m., September 15, 1971 K: I will be out next weekend. C: We have a date on the 24th don't we? K: Is that still convenient? C: Fine with us. We will have dinner and screen a new movie with Walter Mathau - "Couch" (?) K: If it is a new movie, you can be sure I haven't seen it. C: There's a new movie I'm dying to show you. Truman Capote and Rex Reed have raved about it. It's "Tricia's Wedding". K: No, I can't see it. C: I didn't think so. We will just get "Couch" (?) K: What's it about? C: It is very respectable -- about a senior citizen and his daughter-in-law and he is lonely. K: I don't want to give you the impression that I am a member of the prudish league. I will probably be staying in town because I won't be getting with the President for a day or SO. What time is it? C: Gee, I haven't even thought about that. With screening a movie, I think 7:30. Then we can start screening the movie about 9:00 or 9:30. K: That will be great. C: I see you are not speaking at the Beverly Hilton with Bob Hope. K: Was that a mistake? C: Well, I turned down the invitation but if you had been speaking, I would have gone. K: Well, the President is meeting Gromyko on the 29th and If I spoke the night of the 27th, I wouldn't get back until the evening of the 28th. ******* They said if I did a public appearance in Los Angeles, I should do it with a group more composed. I asked Taft Schreiber
