This is the annual Congressional dinner, It's the same group of people. What we would like is for you to give some sort of light and humorous talk about anything at the dinner. K: For how long? B: About 10 minutes K: Who else is going to speak? B; We haven't firmed it up yet; maybe someone to tie in with the Congress and give a rye retort. Fulbright or someone like that. The China trip would be a good point of departure. K: But you want it humorous? B: Yes. K: And for how long? B: - 10-15 minutes. K: Why don't I say I'll do it. B: Oh, we love you. K: But I don't want to be the straight man for someone, B: I can't imagine you being the straight man to anyone. K: You know how to flatter a man. 9 B: But you really think you can do it? K: Yes, B: I'11 phone the goodne news to our President, Vera Glasser, right away. If you want help writing it, around mid-December we can help you. K: I have to have it written by mid-December? B: No, we can help you about then. K: On ho, I 11 write it myself. If you can give me an idea who will be there it will help. B: Sure, serior and junion members of the Senate and the House, Cabinet members and other powerful people in Washington. K: What made you think cabinet members had any power? B: I said and Other powerful people.
