Oh, well, I think we just say the hell with the vote and let these guys get out on a limb. K: I think P: What do you think? K: I think that's it exactly. P: I was just thinking back over the whole record and except for the time we went to China, when they were all slobbering around, by God, we haven't had the support of the Congress. Now let's face it. K: Mr. President, I don't think we should try anything to affect the vote because if we say something about negotiations, they will immediately add so many conditions -- P: That's right. K: That they do the negotiating for us. P: I'd just leave them very, very much in doubt. K: Because if this thing starts again. P: Um-humm. K: I mean, I think this time before we start the negotiations, we should get an assurance that there will be some progress. P: Oh, absolutely. Incidentally, I think they'11 give you one. K: I think SO too. P: If they can't, you can just say there's either be that or it's to the finish. We're ready to go. K: Well, there is so much -- P: And they also must be having a feeling that we are -- I tell you I was just thinking back here today of the shock they had when they had -- the Madame Binh conversation, you know, I was just reading it again.
