Are they not going to launch\na high point or are they fading back into Laos and Cambodia?\nK:\nWell, you know, when you travel around as I have, the Vietnamese\nwant them in Laos and Cambodia and the Laotians and Cambodians\nwant them in Vietnam and we haven t settled that question yet.\nB:\n(laughter)\nWell,\nwhat\nabout It seems that when everyone talks about\na ceasefire they are getting a little bit confused about over who wants\nwhat kind of ceasefire and it looks to me -- and as you know, I've been\naway from Vietnam a great deal and I've been looking at other things\nK:\nYeah, like the New Hampshire campaign.\nB:\nYeah. Well, look, I can't help it when things fall into my lap.\nK:\nI can t t believe that anyone can be that stupid but I suppose --\nB:\nWell, I really wish I had not been in the middle of that, if you really\nwant to know the truth.\nK:\nNo, I'm sure; no I am sure of that.\nB:\nAnd I think you know that that's not the game I play.\nK:\nNo, no; my objection to you is not your lack of decency, it's your\nacumen.\nB:\nWell, let's not change the subject. It's the North Vietnamese are saying\nthey will accept they need a ceasefire that will protect their cadres\nin the South obviously and the way they give their cadres protect in the\nSouth is knowing where they are going politically. Thieu seems to be\nsaying that they can have a ceasefire but one, either where the North\nVietnamese pull all the way back away from us or one where they can\ncontinue there are four kinds of ceasefires I see that are possible,\nnone of which are comfortable to the other side.\nK:\nYeah.\nB:\nAnd I know you are walking the tightrope between them and trying to\nfigure out who is going to accept what but I don't want to talk -- Look,\nI have a feeling we're all saying look at November 7th and we shouldn't\nbe looking at November 7th and this is a long process that we're in the"
