TelCon Dana Little/Mr. Kissinger 5:56 pm, April 24, 1973 K: Hello. L: Thank you for calling. K: Not at all. L: We understood, I believe through Mr. Bundy whom you saw today, that you would be willing to consider some statement about the death of Mr. Armstrong. K: Okay. Let me see, I scribbled something down, now my trouble is can I read it, L: Well, I have all the time in the world. K: Okay, let me--Hamilton Armstrong was a friend and an inspiration --how much can I give you, the three sentences. L: As much as you like. K: Okay. Let me read two more. Ordained, concerned, wise, open to different opinions, he always knew that our common values were greater than our differences, and that American should be true to itself, had to be relevant morally and politically to the rest of the world. L: All right. K: It was the spirit of foreign affairs with which his name grew synonomous over half a century. The country will miss him and his friends lives will be emptiyer without him. Okay. L: Thank you so very much Mr. Kissinger. K: Not at all. Goodbye. L: Goodbye.
