HK:
Right. Seven feel taller than God or something.
SA:
I must say I think K raft's statement really drove me up the wall.
How pompous and sill can you
ing (censored) well get.
HK:
You mean calling me a liar? Oh that he refused to come?
SA:
Yeh, because you had dirtied your hair. He thought it would be
inappropriate in view of what had happened.
NX
SA:
I have been thinking on another line Henry, I'd like your thoughts
One thing is perfectly clear and that is the FBI has been leaking like made
for several months.
H:
That's right.
in general
SA:
And the prosecutors in particular in the Justice Department/has also
been leaking like crazy.
HK:
That's right.
SA:
All my liberal friends are in favor of this because the net result of it has
been to create Watergate and come closex to destroying Mr. Nixon whom
they hate.
H:
But imagine if this had happened to a liberal President.
SA:
Yeh, that's exactly my point. I think myself you do need kind of a secret
investigative political police like the FBI, but if they begin using the press
for political purposes on a wide scale as they have on this occasi you could
be on the goddamnest trouble.
How Mr. J. Edgar Hoover used the press.
HK:
I think it is murderously dangerous and I think the FBI must be broughtunder
brutal control.
SA:
I absolutely agree.
HK:
What they do with their files is unbelievable.
SA:
There is no doubt about it--I think the POST did a good reportorial
jobx and I'm not blaming them, but it is perfectly obvious they couldn't have
possible written the stories they had if they didn't have a leak not only but
a full faucet turned on from the FBI. And also from the prosecutors, and
goddamn if I think if it is a good thing--
H:
And from the grand jury.
SA:
And also from the grand jury. All my liberal friends now have Cheshire cat
