Kay, How are you?

Fine, how are you? You going to make it?
K:
I don't know. With your paper even writing a friendly editorial.
G:
Well, Henry, you know we're wholeheartedly behind you every
moment of the time.
K:
Actually, personally I believe that. Of course every vote you pick
up for me in the Senate I lose in the White House. Have you thought
of that?
G:
Guess we hadn't even thought of it when we were backing you all the
way.
K:
Because the other day somebody from the Press Office called me and
said he gagged after the first paragraph of that editorial and stopped
reading it.
G:
It must have killed him.
K:
Yeah. Say, I called you, not knowing you were out of town. I'm
having a dinner tomorrow night for a small group of people who came
in for the swearing-in and I wondered whether you could come to that?
G:
Oh, Henry, I'm brokenhearted. I have
institute and
I'm going to the dinner and I have people coming in. I'm just bound in.
K:
Well, I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you, Kay.
G:
Oh, listen Henry, that really was SO nice of you.
K:
It isn't nice of me. You were such a good friend in all difficult times.
I won't forget that.
