If no, we will have to go to the Security Cauncil on our own,, ask for a cease-fire and status quo ante, we don't want to do that, it will go on Monday into a fight in the General Assembly debates will be Right now the Arabs are across the Suez Canal. They started with 5 bridgeheads and now are down to 2. By tomorrow evening none, then into Arab position have to be an even- handed position. no change in cease-fire lines. M: Only course is to pursue work down the middle line. K: Askfor a simple resolutio n hope to get it tonight. M: Where are you? In New York? K: No, I returned to Washington to start planning. I will talk to Senator Fulbright later tonight. Out of touch right now. If he thinks it desirable I'll tell him I will be glad to meet with the committee in Executive Session on Tuesday. M: I suggest you contact George Aiken and Morgan in the House. Incidentally, on my way out yesterday before I came back, I paid a courtesy call on Chio Quang Hua. K.' Isn't that nice. M: Much better than last time. K: Didn't you have an impression of more warmth ? M: Oh yes. Much, much better than when I saw Quan Hua. a couple of weeks ago. END
