We can't land troops in the Trucial States and resupply the 3rd Army. S. Of course not.. K. We should get these two things going. The convoy will go through tonight and the meeting will take place. S. Splendid. K. The reason we don't want Major Generals running lose over there is not to get the pot stirred up. Can we settle it now? S. Sure, the important thing is the 3rd Army. K. No, getting the ceasefire straightened away is the most important. If the Israelis and Egyptians get something worked out on the 3rd Army that is We have no interest in the 3rd Army S. We have some interest in the 3rd Army. It is our help arranging the ceasefire and they were captured after that, which compromises somewhat our position in being the peace maker in the area. K. I have been on the phone all morning with Zayyat and Ismail and the Egyptians are extremely pleased with what we are doing. S. Good piece of work. K. Do you think a convoy can travel on that road at night? S. We will have to check. 'My own belief is yes they can handle it. K. Give me your judgment. S.
