TELCON Sec. Schlesinger/Sec. Kissinger Wednesday, November 28, 1973 10:15 a. m. K: How are you? S: A little tired but Oo k. How does the world look out there. K: I have had a very interesting message from Saudi Arabia saying Faisal would like to ease the boycott and is looking for an early occasion which will provide him the way when the peace conference is agreed to -- in the form of a presidential letter. S: Very good. That bears on the subject I was going to discuss which is that it will take six or seven weeks anyhow to accumulate the Marines in the Indian Ocean. K: Can I call you back this afternoon. I have to go to the Hill and I am late now. That information is just for you. It is a message from Prince Fahd. S: Are we sure Faisal agrees? K: He claims he is speaking for Faisal. I have never known him to go this far. S: Very good. Fahd of course is more friendly with the United States than Faisal at the moment. O.K. K: Goodbye. END
