In any event I have been trying to do what I could to
get something going on there. One of the problems is that
Richey Moss who is apparently a relatively open minded
person is going to be succeeded at the end of February as head of
this Conference on Soviet Jewry by Stanley Lowell (?) . Do you
know him?
K:
No.
Z : He comes out of the American Jewish Congress. He is less
open minded. I have been telling them to get something moving
before then. In any event I did want you to know that there
was a good result of the meeting with Winter and he has been
very helpful and we had a good meeting in New York after meeting
with you. Everyone sent their congratulations.and In terms of
another meeting the question is what is most convenient to you.
K: Next week would be fine.
Z : The one problem with next week is Riffkin is on his vacation.
He will not be back until the second of February which means the
week of the fourth. That would be the following week.
K : Let's aim for that week.
Z : How is Friday, the 8th of that week.
K: All right. Let's aim for that.
Z : Do you think
K : I will be here
Z : Friday, the 8th, all right.
K : Right.
Z : In the afternoon about 2:30.
K : Let's say 3:00.
