    "ocrText": "TELCON\nGeorge Vest\nSecretary Kissinger\n12:34 3/8/74\nV:\nI have only one question which is a question that comes out of your\nremark that you have been meeting regularly with members of the\nJewish community and the report from the National Conference\non Soviet Jewry that they have not seen you for several months\n- --you said regularly but\nK:\nNo, no just a minute--the - National Conference on Soviet Jewry-\nV:\nIs not the Jewish leaders\nK:\nJust say I have been maintaining my position\nV:\nWith members of the Jewish community\nK:\nI have been meeting with the President's conference and other\nkey leaders of the Jewish community-- I didn't include every last\nmember of them\nV:\nRight, that is what I wanted to pin down--I've -- got nothing else\nK:\nWhat are you going to do on the European thing if anything comes up\nV:\nI would take exactly sir the line that had gone out in the telegram which\nwe sent out yesterday- - Ed Hartman and I had spoken of this yesterday-\njust a simple--rehearses - - the background and says we are now carefully\nstudying the text and a meeting date will be fixed upon completion on\nthe study\nK:\nAnd you better make clear we received it officially only on Wednesday\nV:\nYes, that is the preceding part, sir - - received it on Monday originally\nbut then explanations on Tuesday March 5--which reached us on Wednesday\nand this is too serious a matter to be handled that quickly.\nK:\nDon't say it is too serious - just say we won't be ready and if you have\nand opportunity--Reston has been briefed--that horses' ass --by French (?)\nwe have never asked to be present at the ForMin's meeting- that was not\nan issue at all if it comes up--don't volunteer it\nV:\nRight, I understand\nK:\nGood, thank you."
