Fisher - page 2 F: I don't like to waste your time. I hope you rely on my judgment. K: It's a good time with the MFM coming up. Where are you? F: I'm in Florida. We're enjoying the sunshine. K: I never get invited F: I'm trying to figure out how to go about this. After we go through discussions, I'd like to talk to you about it. K: I'll bring it up. F: One of the stories out of the New York Times was you would discuss it with various leaders. K: Which happens to be true. F: The question is, I don't know who you discussed this with. K: I've been discussing it with you and every Jewish group that comes in here. I have been discussing it with them and I discussed it with you. F: We met on three or four occasions. No question about that. K: The last time I saw your group I discuss it and with all various Jewish people who've come in. That may not be legal. F: What I've been doing is, I talked to Ribicoff a few weeks ago. I suggested we move ahead on this thing to see if we can get this thing resolved. That was my suggestion to him. I'm going to see Jackson and Ribicoff tomorrow in Palm Beach. K: They have to make up their minds. They cannot stop the Soviets from MFM That is not possible. F: I'm a Republican not a Democrat. I'm speaking up for Abe Ribicoff. He brought Jackson down there. I talked to Abe about it. I said, tell him my feelings about this thing. They ought to face the gains that have been accomplished. The immigration figures from Russia are down about 50%. They went down in January and February and they're still down. K: They're going to lose everything. F: My feeling is how to figure out how to keep the gains. K: We had a comment that the figures will be kept at about 36,000.
