K: Bill, I am talking to Jerry Schecter of Time which is doing a cover
on me and he is under the impression that I ordered the abolishing of
the National Estimate
C: Absolutely not.
K: Board and in any event, whether I ordered it or not , that my views
were such that they produced the -- a tendency to give us.
C: Absolutely not.
K: I don't want you to talk to him while I am here, but could you talk to him
at some point soon and tell him exactly wh at the hell happened, because my
recollection is that I didn't even know it was being done until IX I read
it in the papers.
C: Iknow i t. It had nothing to do wi th you at all. I am going off to Europe
tonight, unfortunate y. If I could get him someti me this afternoon.
K: Let me check wi th him -- he is here in my office (Aside: Colby is
leaving for Europe tonight you wa nt to talk to him at some point)
Can he call you, say wi thin another hour or SO.
C: Sure.
K: Ok, he'll call you.
C: Alright, fine. Thanks very much.
K: Thanks, bye.
