Egypt and Israel and then we've broken the back of it. Then we can work
on
N: I agree. Palestine and Jerusalem last.
K: It's one step at a time. That's our advantage over the Russians. The
Russians are trying
N: What about the note to Brezhnev, did we decide?
K: That's coming - that should be waiting for you.
N: It's still a good idea.
K: It's an excellent idea, Mr. President. I made just general review by
you of the issues for the summit.

Department that there is to be no comment on this thing.
K: Absolutely.
N: And Simon should just really be
K: Haig and I called Simon.
N: Don't say a word, I'll say something tomorrow night. I must say it
categorically but I won't go toofar. I can't do it in a half-assed way. You

K: We both called Simon, Mr. President.
N: We'll the advantage out of this and if later on it would be a disadvantage

K: On the other one, I - there's no question that after the Syrian disengagement
we have to go to a permanent settlement.
N: Yes. Looking at the trip thing now, that's the other thing I want to raise
with you.
K: My recommendation would be for you - the Egyptians are recommending that
around May 20 would be best for them. We can announce it early in April.
We can have a few others ahead of the Egyptians. I would recommend that you
start in Egypt.
N: Put Egypt first.
