TELECON Mr. McCloy/Sec. Kissinger March 22, 1974 12:48 K: How are you? M: I was talking to Winston Lord when you came on the phone. Itold him that these fellows are sort of scattered to the four winds when they had gotten a sort of informal word from X Ken Jamison that there was very little likelihood of meeting this week, but I can xx get Ken Jamison who is down in the Bahamas now, but he is one the way back. K: No, no. Don't get anybody back it was just stupid of my associates. I told them I couldn't do it Tuesday, but I would do it before the end of the week. M: Well, I think your Assistants were trying to protect you. a good bit. K: Yes, but Jack, you know that is one of the problems in these jobs that you get protected. M: I know, what I want to be sure, Henry, is that when they come down they W are well-equipped to tell you in a short period of time just what their thinking is. That means that I can get them together before they did come down -- it is going to be pretty hard to do that before 10:00 tomorrow morning. K: No, no, there is no sense doing it but it is sort of a pity because I am going to the Soviet Union now, I don't need it there and then I'll be back for a day and then I am going on vacation, then I'll be M: You ought to go on vacation and if it is anything of any substance we can take it up with Rush or something else. K: No you can't. M: I know it is not going to be like dealing with you but I don't want to do anything half-baked tomorrow. K: No, no, let's forget about tomorrow. That just can't be under these circumstances. M: Ok. Then we'll be back at you. There are alot of things I would like to & have them tell you about their reading of that whole area. K: How about a week from today?
