TELECON Ronald Reagan/Secretary Kissinger June 7, 1974 3:30 PM R: Congratulations. K: Thank you Ron. How nice to hear from you. R: Well, I wanted to do if for a long time. What kind of xxx breakfast cereal do you eat? K: Why? R: That sounds like a back-breaking schedule that is just inhuman. K: That's true. R: That XXX must have been really something. K: Oh, it was exhausting. R: Well, it was a very wonderful thing, I can tell you that. And I also had to call to ask you about something. I've put it off calling knowing you must when you come home of literally have to go into a de-compression chamber. But I had a call from a prominent gentleman out here with Pacific lighting - a Jack Miller. And they're deeply involved with Indonesia. When I was there when that natural gas thing was signed in Jakarta on that last trip and he wanted to know if I could call and ask if he could call your office and if he could make an appointment. It has to do with our country and natural gas and Indonesia. I did gather when I was out there at the signing where the Japanese got the Xxxx K: Yes. R: The American businessmen who were there expressed to me that with some of our agencies in Washington, part of our problems were excessive red tape. Now I don't know whether that's what he wants to talk about. K: I don't question that. R: But I don't know whether that's what he wants to talk about or not, but would it be alright if I told Jack Miller it would be alright that he could call in regard to see you? K: I can't do it before the middle of July. I'm going off with the President tomorrow.
