Hello.
B:
Are we going to have a war?
K:
I think we are going to try to quiet it down. We'll know within the
next hour. I'll tell you, I'm beginning to get to the view that I
cannot live any longer in this town.
B:
Why? What happened now?
K:
Because it's getting to be ridiculous. Every time you move some
@# is putting out some story. We never supported the Sampson
regime; we never had any intention of supporting the Sampson regime.
B:
I know you never did. But Joe Kraft thinks SO.
K:
Does he have an article on that?
B:
He has this morning. But he doesn't really say that. I haven't seen
anybody -- well, I guess they have been illusions to that.
K:
Oh, the New York Times
B:
The New York Times said so, yeah. Yeah, that's right. I mean, what
are we going to do, put Makarios back in?
K:
We haven't decided yet how to do it but we'll certainly not accept
Sampson.
B:
Yeah. Well, I just wanted to -- you know, I'm just the guy that called
you in the middle of a crisis and bother you -- I just wanted to tell you
not to worry about this crap. I mean, I don't think it's very serious.
You know, people like to criticize about foreign policy but they're not
really making any passes at you.
K:
No, but -- what's SO ridiculous is -- what you told me the other day,
I mean, it shows what's going on in this town.
B:
