D: I thought you were somewhere.
K: What?
D: I thought you are somewhere not in Washington.
K: The Pressident is going fishing in Key Biscayne which is something I don't
enjoy.
D: Deep sea?
K: In the Bahamas with Connally. It's deep sea fishing. They are discussing
domestic politics which is not of overwhelming interest to me. I am going away in
a few minutes and wanted to discuss the item we were discussing. On maritime
talks we will instruct our people to give up request for north passage. You
said problem of linkage and we will give it up. They don't know it yet.
D: They will not know from me because they are in Moscow.
K: You can tell your leadership. Those instructions will be going out today.
On the answer we were discussing on trade, I wanted to understand the two
items we have before us concerning lendlease and agricultural settlement.
D: Lendlease from your side.
K: Right. Agriculture is the big item.
D: Both interest. One we are going to
and second is not bad for you.
K: I want to know if there's any other item.
D: The Canadian business President has to decided
and second is
? ? ? .
K: I understand that. It doesn't have to be done W right away.
D: When we meet together. This is really as
possible.
K: If we can tell you that we are ready to proceed on discussion with respect
to lendlease and agriculture.
D: If there's any -- I don't have it now. Iwill tell you on Tues. Or call you in
10 mins.
