I am telling it to you
not to ask anything of the Soviet Union but to give you a sense of
the mood. I think we had a marvelous meeting this week.
D. When Brezhnev spoke to you I was next to him by telephone.
But he asked me once again to come. He was pleased with the
meeting.
K. Tell me one thing
I give you my word of honor I knew
nothing about what happened today except
D. Tomorrow you will call. We can go through what happened in
these few days.
K. I have postponed my trip to China.
D. When are you going there?
K. At least a month. At the end of November.
D. What was the reaction of the Chinese ? I think they will have
more time to prepare.
K. Not very well. They know we introduced two joint resolutions.
I will call you tomorrow.
